Economic Empowerment
TGIA his Grace Development group is helping poor, vulnerable people, women and girls to overcome obstacles to creating sustainable small businesses as well as ensuring their long-term economic success.
We are doing that through the Economic empowerment program. The program is comprised of 65 hours of training that include skills like; baking/confectionery, cooking, making exercise books, Vocational skills and farming.
Beneficiaries also receive business/entrepreneurship skills, job readiness skills, and basic financial management. All instructors are our staff and other experienced volunteers from a variety of fields. Volunteer mentors will also help program graduates start their own businesses. We also plan to establish a community bakery and restaurant where 50 vulnerable women and girls will be employed.
We estimate that after our training program 50 participants will launch microenterprises which will create 15 additional jobs.
Beyond benefitting program enrollees, our program helps the community. Entrepreneurship helps foster a community spirit that enables residents of distressed communities to share the benefits of commercial revitalization.
By helping to increase the wealth of vulnerable people, our program will also indirectly help create organizations that provide child care, food assistance, and other social services
